Men’s Sweaters Are Meant for Ladies

Location: Minnesota Featured: Banana Republic Christmas is just a couple days away! Can you believe it? I absolutely love the holiday season, and I am so sad that it’s almost over. The holidays give me an excuse to eat as much as I want and not feel so bad about skipping the gym. However, all those great excuses won’t look so fool proof anymore, when NYE rolls around. Like every flawed human being, I am going to tell myself that I will go to the gym more often and proceed to go to on January 2nd like everyone else. Can it…

My Winter Picks for the Inevitable Snow Storm

Location: Minnesota I hope this month is going well for you all who are getting some snow! Winter is upon us and temperatures are dropping into the negatives across the northern states. Thankfully, I’ve been here for a year now, so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect in a Minnesotan winter. It gets wicked cold here – so cold that they have to cancel school for the little kids! At first that didn’t make sense to me, but then I realized that it would be cruel to make a child wait for the bus in -30…

Holiday Red in New England

Location: Massachusetts Featured: Armani Jeans dress Can you guy believe it? Christmas is in 9 days! Since I could not take work off for the holidays, I decided to go home back to see my family in early December. I’m always excited to go back to Massachusetts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my home state. It has a very charming New England vibe and yet rough around the edges due to the spirited, no-nonsense locals. During the summers, beautiful beaches along the coast will be within your reach, and in the fall, cheery, golden or red autumn trees will greet you…

Day at the Museum with the Perfect Blue Jeans

Location: Weisman Art Museum Featured: Topshop Jeans Before the polar vortex could swoop in and take over Minnesota (Side note: it’s going to be max of 10 degrees this week, falling into the negatives. Brrr. Hibernation anyone?), Steven and I decided to take advantage of this nice fall weather and do some exploring. On this day, we went to the Weisman Art Museum, which is free and run by the university. Before we even walked inside to see artwork,  we noticed that the building itself was art. It has a very funky and modern architectural style. The structure is made completely out…

The Navy Raincoat

I love how people go all out with their Christmas decorations with the magnificent lights and trees. It definitely transports me back to my childhood to car rides with my family around town at night to see everybody’s Christmas decorations. I remember being in so much awe and amazement as we drove by the best houses and how I thought to myself that I would decorate my house just like that when I’m older. Now that I am older, I realized that there’s this thing called the “electricity bill.” Sorry 5 year old Michelle. Maybe just some lights. Nothing crazy. For the longest time, I…

Cozy and Spikey

Right up until the clock strikes midnight to commence Black Friday (actually nowadays, Black Friday is Black Thursday for some reason, but I digress), I could be easily be mistaken for the Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge. I refuse to listen to Christmas music or even acknowledge it until my favorite holiday comes to an end. I love Thanksgiving too much to allow myself to go from Halloween straight to Christmas. So now that Thanksgiving is officially over, I can finally switch gears to Christmas mode! Cue all the Christmas music 24/7. For this holiday look, I’ve decided to hold the skirt/dress and whip out…

Beach Days in Oahu

During my short time in Oahu, I was fortunate enough to have the time to visit the 2 best beaches I have ever laid my eyes on: Lanikai Beach and Hanauma Bay. They’re both so unique but equally breathtaking. Lanikai is a quiet, secluded beach with beautiful white sands, perfect for lounging and watching your worries float away in the horizon. Meanwhile, Hanauma Bay has living coral reef, providing habitat for many species of fish, perfect for the active and adventurous who want to fill their day with snorkeling. Both of these beaches have the clearest blue waters I have ever…

Lace Ups, Leather, and Dim Sum

On this fine day, Steven and I decided to go to our favorite dim sum restaurant, Mandarin Kitchen, for brunch. This place was recommended to us by Steven’s hairdresser when we first moved to Minnesota, and we’ve been hooked ever since. My favorite dish that they have has to be the sweet pork buns. The sweet glazed bun perfectly contrasts with the abundant savory pork filling, and I think they do it better than my favorite dim sum restaurant in Boston! Meanwhile, Steven’s favorites are the crab balls, which are the size of a tennis ball that has been deep…

Fall: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Happy Friday guys! I hope you all are enjoying your last day at work, as I endure day 2 of my grueling 7 day stretch, leading up to my most favorite holiday ever: THANKSGIVING. I’ve just realized that I made it sound worse than it really is, but my job is actually pretty cool, considering that it is my dream job. The hardest part of my day is waking up at 4:30 am. The second hardest part of my day is driving for an hour before the sun even rises in the middle of nowhere and praying I don’t hit…

Como Park Zoo and Conservatory

Hi everyone! Before I delve into my day at the zoo, I want to take this opportunity to thank a few people. First off, thank you all you guys for reading my first post! It means a lot to me that there are few people out there in the world, who are curious enough to read my babbling thoughts. Second, I want to thank my brother for checking my site out to see if it was working fine – even if it was for just two seconds. No bit of work goes unnoticed little brother. And finally, last BUT NOT…
