Hello everyone! Sorry that it has been a while, but I have been picking up extra shifts and been on vacation. At the end of January, we were in Reno, NV to visit Steven’s family and celebrate the Lunar New Year with them. While we were in Reno, Steven gave me a tour of his alma mater to show me his old stomping grounds. It’s so weird going back to a campus after you graduated. It’s just a sad reminder that I have to adult now. But don’t get me wrong. Adulting has its perks too! I get to eat whatever I want for dinner. That is, IF I can figure out what to eat for dinner.
This post will be about putting together a cute winter outfit with layers and more layers! Sometimes, wearing a winter jacket gets boring. Not to mention, all that hard work and thought that you put into your outfit is now hiding underneath a big old puffy jacket. When I was packing for Reno, I was firmly against bringing my reliably warm Canada Goose jacket (seen here). Even though Reno was going through a crazy winter, I knew that it is not as cold as Minnesota.
Eventually after much thought, I ended up deciding on this as my template for my vacation winter outfit. What I love about this outfit is that it is both functional and stylish. Underneath the outer layers, I wore a warm thick knitted sweater (like the one shown in this post here). Then over that was this new vest I found at Nordstrom (currently on sale via the brand’s website here). The fur hood on this vest is detachable, but I like to leave it on because it adds a touch of femininity to my look. Finally, the last layer was my trusty leather jacket from Forever 21 (old style but similar one here). If it was a tad bit colder, I would have added a scarf. But that’s it! Perfect for a 30 degrees day.
In terms of everyday winter clothes, all that I packed for the trip was just the vest, leather jacket, and tops for layering. When it comes to travelling, I am all about packing light. Packing for a winter trip may seem like a difficult task. The clothes can definitely add up in space and weight to your luggage, but it is possible!
